Myth Buster |
An old wives tale was that if you had your carpet cleaned you would shorten the life of your carpet or that it would get dirty quicker. |
The truth: |
Before the days of popular machine extraction carpet cleaning, most carpets were cleaned by the housekeeper or housewife. This often involved scrubbing into your carpet a shampoo that was available in all supermarkets. |
You scrubbed this shampoo into the carpet and it pushed the dirt deep into the backing and base of the carpet. You were, in effect, just surface cleaning. |
Unfortunately becuase you were never rinsing out the carpet, a huge amount of shampoo lay dried into your carpets and it caused them to become resoiled straight away and so you were constantly trying to keep your carpets cleaned. |
Having shampoo permanently permanently lying in your carpet and the constant scrubbing is what shortens the life of your carpet. |
The difference with us is that when we deep clean your carpet, we use machines with industrial strength vacuums so we extract all chemicalsand leave your carpets clean and almost dry. |
